the life of my sister
Theres a sadness to her eyes And inside she constantly crys She hides the pain that she feels And her past she conceals She always stands tall And trys her best to forget it all Forget watching her father get stoned every night She was always alone, living in fright For her mother drank herself to sleep This little girl had so many secrets to keep At school she was constantly mocked about her weight And inside her grew a deep hate Then her mother got pregnant three times in a row And this little girl raised three sisters on her own For her oldest sister at 15 had to leave From all the abuse and beatings she received She now closes herself in her room Hoping the screaming will end soon As she hears her mother cry in plea: "please stop hitting me" She hears the thumps against the wall And her little heart begans to fall. This girl was never a girl For she had to grow up in the adult world Even though she hates this place She always has a smile on her face And this little girl will always be strong Even when its her hate that carries her along.
Author's Notes:
I wrote this about my little sister she is now 15 but still has a world of problems..I love her so much and she is one of the most strongest people I know she never had a childhood because she had to take care of her drunken mother and drugattic father and at 10 years old she was changing diapers and raising three little babies. I tried my best to stay with her but I had to leave for her father hit me so bad and I couldnt take it anymore. And this is what I see when she looks at me. thank you for reading.

My eyes filled with tears at this
beautiful and tragic poem. Life has
been very cruel to you and your
siblings. The parents need to be
behind bars. Is there no other
adult relatives or anyone that
can help? I will send up a
prayer for you and your
siblings. Linda
