The horrors I saw today
I have seen many wrongs in the world today For each wrong i witnessed I carefully prayed I saw a woman standing in need I saw a man overwhelmed with his greed Yet he didn't stop to give a decimal of what he had For the money in his pocket made his heart go bad I saw a child poorly dressed I looked at the mother who had spent ten thousand dollars to enlargen her breasts For the judgement of society was full in her head That she forgot that her children needed to be fed I saw a 10 year old boy working himself to the core For the goverment no longer pays for public schools instead they pay for killings and war All this little boy wanted was an education but he was denied by his angered nation Tonight I saw a 16 year old girl standing on the corner of a city street Waiting to see what new guy she would meet She was sexually abused by her own father And now she looks for the love she never got being a daughter All these things I saw in one day These horror I saw in dismay And I pray to the Lord above To please spread his infinite love On the souls that lack it the most For without love they roam this earth as a darkened ghost.
Author's Notes:
I really did see al these things in one day and I thought that I should write them down so I did and it ended up being oe of the most meaningful poems I think I have ever written I hope you all endure this with compassion thanks for reading!
