Such a Young Age
As the story is told
It was for love
But did she know it was love
At the age of 13

When the time came
She went to the hospital
She had a false ID
Making her 18
But she was only 14

She was so scared
Who wouldn’t be in that situation
When all was said and done
At 4 am the 14 year old
Became a mom

She knew that this precious baby girl
Needed what she couldn’t provide
So it was with a heavy heart
She had to say goodbye

As the years passed
the baby girl grew up
With her maternal grandmother
taking on the roll of mother
No one ever heard from
the sad girl that left

At the age of 12
The truth was told
At the age of 18
The search was begun

At the age of 31
Trying to start a family of her own
Hoping against hope that
the now sad lady can be found

The little baby girl
wishes her no harm
She just wants to thank her
for giving her the chance to live

14 years old
Such a young age
She knew what love is

Oh my God, gave me blessed you are in soul and heart to be able to write this. You must be a truly wonderful person. I can only imagine how you must have thought of her throughout the years, the things you want to tell her and say to her...I hope you are able to do just that someday Martha. You are an incredible woman, and thank you for sharing that. Barbie
