THE BEACH
My refuge,my escape,
a place to collect my thoughts,
My getaway,my retreat,
to come here after battles fought.

Becoming one with mother nature,
hush and listen to her sounds,
A place for great meditation,
where fantasies have no bounds.

The beautiful whites sands,
and the warm,inviting sun,
The amazing blue skies,
under which the children have fun.

Look at all of it's splendor,
the waves carressing the shore,
The birds flying overhead,
who can ask for anything more?

See the dolphins swimming by,
and collect the pretty sea shells,
This is the best escape,
from life and all of it's hells.

This is one of my fav's from you for sure. This really hits home for me. I grew up 5 minutes from the beach all my life. There is nothing that i love more. I spend every weekend there. It's just so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Thank you for this. I really enjoyed this one.

Joe,
The beach is my choice of a retreat, as well...but living so far from the ocean, I don't get to go there often. Instead, I have to sneak off to the lake and just sit on the shore there, even though it's not quite the same.
There's just something about the unstoppable crash of waves on the sandy beach to ease the heart and soul.
A GREAT write on the topic of the week....

I envy you people who live near the beaches...sure, I can escape to the mountains....which I often do...but I hope to someday visit the beaches....I know I would fall in love with it...
