Guilt

I regret the things Iíve done in the past

This feeling of guilt continues to last

So much embarrassment and shame

Just many things indicating what Iíve became

And lurking in the darkened corners is my guilt

The innocence crumbling in this wall Iíve built

I pick up the bricks and start to climb

But my remorse is frozen in the depths of time

The darkness consumes the space around me and itís so deep

The nightmares of redemption attacking in my sleep

Vindication rising to my fingertips

Fear breaking into the corners of my lips

These eyes seeing my unjust ways

But I close them and dream away the days

Just so I can forget about this emotional pain

And release this guilt my mind contains

In the dark I search for the answers I seek

But when life goes light the future looks bleak

I can see this guilt haunting my memories

Injecting itself into the breeze as it nestles by the swaying trees

Infecting my mind body and soul

Burring itself deeper in this so called hell hole

But just then I remember guilt is one of the seven deadly sins

Itís one of those unknown quantities that makes the world spin

It makes someone complete

Something to reflect on within this heartbeat

Somewhere deep down inside

This guilt changes into my pride

But I canít help but not to swallow

The reality is this road of regret I continue to follow
