Guilt
I regret the things Iíve done in the pastThis feeling of guilt continues to lastSo much embarrassment and shame Just many things indicating what Iíve becameAnd lurking in the darkened corners is my guiltThe innocence crumbling in this wall Iíve builtI pick up the bricks and start to climbBut my remorse is frozen in the depths of timeThe darkness consumes the space around me and itís so deepThe nightmares of redemption attacking in my sleepVindication rising to my fingertipsFear breaking into the corners of my lipsThese eyes seeing my unjust waysBut I close them and dream away the daysJust so I can forget about this emotional painAnd release this guilt my mind containsIn the dark I search for the answers I seekBut when life goes light the future looks bleakI can see this guilt haunting my memoriesInjecting itself into the breeze as it nestles by the swaying treesInfecting my mind body and soulBurring itself deeper in this so called hell hole But just then I remember guilt is one of the seven deadly sinsItís one of those unknown quantities that makes the world spinIt makes someone completeSomething to reflect on within this heartbeatSomewhere deep down insideThis guilt changes into my prideBut I canít help but not to swallowThe reality is this road of regret I continue to follow
