Would You Be Enough?

If the sky lost its color
And the sun turned to gray
Would I be able to have faith to say
I will trust You no matter what it takes?

If the end of my life lay before me
And I knew there was no chance
Would I just give in and let it go
Or would I fight knowing that You are in control?

If there was no one else but You
My friends and family gone
Would I believe that Your promises are true
And that You are the writer to my song?

Would You still be enough for me
If I lost everything
If I was holding onto life by just a string
Would You be enough for me?

Author's Notes:
I don't know that I like how this came out yet...I might decide I have to edit it a little, but you can give your opinion and tell me what you think. I was just thinking of Job again today and wondering if that happened to me if I would still be able to stand strong and say that God is in control and not curse but bless His name.

I think this one is really great Kate! Sometimes I wonder too whether I would be able to take it all and remember that God is in control but I'm rather confident that I could. I bet you are too! :-D

Dear Kate-
This poem really touched me because it
reminded me of my mother-in-law during
her fight with cancer-
Shirley was a strong and indipendent woman for the 20 years I knew her when she
was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer in Oct.
of 2003-
In the next 30 days to follow she lost
her job and ability to function on her own-
She lived with us for the next 9 months and had ultimate battles with this
physical demon-
My wife could not figure out what kept her fighting for life when every thing she
had was gone-
Shirley taught me that life is most
important in this existence-
Not our houses or jobs~Not our cars or bank accounts-
Just Life~
The joy of seeing the faces of our family
and friends-
You asked for us to give our opinion-
I hope this little note tells you that I
like it just the way it is!
Shirley passed away Oct 4, 2004-
This is the first poem I've read since that day that really brought her reflection into my thoughts!
Thank you for sharing this!
Best Wishes~
