In my past I did not care about people,
but now I am beginning to start,
Because of the people here on the site,
I am now just finding my heart.

My reputation is of being cold and cruel,
of being a man without any feelings,
I did not want to be bothered,
by people and all of their dealings.

I have been hurt so many times,
I put my heart under lock and key,
No one mattered to me any more,
time for me to take care of me!

I listen to the people here,
and I hear about their wims and woes,
I have seen it all before,
so believe me I know how it all goes!

I have read thousands of poems here,
some are about lives being torn apart,
I am starting to feel for these people,
because I am now just finding my heart!

Author's Notes:
OK Rebel Cutie, you win I might have a heart inside here after all, I have met so many wonderful people here(so many to mention by name, but you all know who you are) and some I have continued a friendship with online off the site.Things in life are surely looking up.Thank you again for the time, Joe

Aahhh, you found the bandaids! Emotional suicide is never the answer, little brother. It is a little know fact that if you hold in emotions, they swell and eat away at your insides until your butt falls off....then where would you be?

Seriously, an emotional nap is sometimes needed to heal, but NEVER let your heart go cold...if you do, the dark side wins! The ones that seek to destroy you are victorious! There is truth in the old adage 'The best revenge is to live well'!

Welcome back to the land of the living - Savanah.....watching Joe greet the morning and shake off winter's hold.

No matter how bad life seems, I have never been totally able to withdraw my heart...and seeing others hurting and loving...caring and reaching out...there's just no way to NOT have a heart for these.
Ok, Mr. Tough Guy...Even the toughest people have a heart. Sometimes the most tender heart of all, and they develop that toughness only to avoid having that tender heart broken. Don't worry...we won't tell anyone your secret ;)
I'm glad that we've become friends...

I just love this touching piece Joe.
You weren't fooling anyone you know.
Anyone who read your beautiful work
had to know you had a big old soft
heart under that gruff exterior.
I am so glad you are in a better place
in your life. Your CP friends will
always be there for you. Linda

Wonderful poem, so open & honest...closing off is something I know all too well. I do feel your words & relate to them in many ways. It is so easy to close off, but so much harder to re-open....
Keep smiling,
Jo x
