Some Things I Can't Forget

Flashes of old memories come into play
Some good and some bad I must say
What was “hidden” from a child’s eyes
Remember asking you about it and all I got was denies

Never saw you in short sleeves
For then all your lies would start to unweave
I was smarter than what you thought
In the eyes of a child, you were caught

Visions of burnt bent spoons
You were not the picture of a druggie goon
Wasn’t my love for you enough to make you wanna quit
Guess not, because you kept going for one last hit

I still ask the reasons why
As I look to where you are… in the sky
I am your daughter and I love you still
Some memories keep turning in my head like a windmill

Author's Notes:

Just because a child isn't in the room, don't think they don't see what you do.
I have seen things that no child should ever have to deal with. Before you take a hit, look closely at your loved ones. Is your next high worth hurting them? Please think...

So very very true, yet most of us just sort of slide around the dilemma and hurt the ones we care about the most! Unfortunately currently have a friend who cannot stop what she is doing yet cares dearly for her son! Has lost him to CPS and slid even farther down the razor! I am so sorry to hear about your suffering!
