Hey dad

Hey dad, look at what youíve done to me

Canít you see I can no longer be who I want to be

Iím haunted by memories of the things you used to do

And of the beatings you put mum and I through

I still have the physical scars that you gave to me

Because of the times you put me over your knee

The times you beat me with your belt buckle

And bruised my body with your knuckles

When you hit my head against the floor

And broke all my fingers by slamming the door

And dad just so you know I did use to cut my wrists

Because when you touched mum it was with your fists

And they were open wounds of neglect

And the scars symbolise that childhood I cannot forget

So dad please tell me why you abused me and mum

And how such a hideous monster you came to become

Was it because you was addicted to beer

So you could drown your sorrows and let your problems disappear

I do remember when you use to come home late at night

Breath smelling like booze beating me with all your might

Walking away with that smirk all over your face

And just fort that youíre more then a disgrace

I hate you so much that words canít explain

Because of you my body was racked with pain

Do you really want to know that I went to my room to cry

When I was there I really wanted to die

Does that make you happy? Does that make you satisfied?

Does it feel great to know that I have no pride

Because you took that and my childhood away

With your fists and the words you would say

But I canít remember why this begun

But thanks dad for all the things that you done
