Take This Heart

Take away my heart from me,
Take it with you,
will you please?
And bury it beneath the soil,
among the rotting leaves.|
I shall not need it  anymore,
For it, I have no use.
Let it return
to the dust it once was,
set it free, just turn it loose.
Take this heart,
take it far away,
Do with it as you may;
it need no longer beat for me,
feel one or the other way.
Take it,  get it away from me!
It has only brought me pain.
The love that I once kept in it,
was for nothing,
all in vain.
So take it please,
leave me here to rest,
my bones are weary anyway.
Take my heart,
Take it with you, please,
just remember me someday.

Great poem Barbie but I feel sad for you, don't give up on your heart feeling love again. Let it heal and it will mend enough to let someone in again. Henry
