A Razor to My Flesh

I am so depressed, I take a razor

And cut my freakiní flesh

I will bleed until folks notice me

Even if it means my death

Donít you feel any pity for me?

Must I slash some more?

Hey look here world! I am in pain

Iím breaking at my core

I could try to fit in the real world

But that donít sound like fun?

Iíd rather sit in my mental prison

And suck the barrel of a gun!

The sharp steel against my flesh

Cold metal on my lips

I feel the bite of blade on skin

Taking life in little nips

I scream out for attention

But I have no voice

Pain will let me know I live

To Ďfeelí, Ihave no choice

well aint no doubt you write one helluva poem!!!
I used to get so annoyed at the people who came into casualty having cut themselves but now I view it in a different light.
The worst case I heard of was a guy on Jerry Springer who cut off his penis with a pair of garden shears to spite his boyfriend!..........
Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow... This is a very powerful poem. I like that there is actual admittance (is that a word...? lol) that the person cuts wanting attention. That makes it more powerful, and the rhyme scheme is perfect! I really enjoyed this one. (And hope all gets better for you!) Nice one. -Jo
