Judgment

Whose unseen steps tread the boards?

Whose phantom hands twist the cords?

Whose whispered threats do I hear?

Whose vengeful wrath should I fear?

What secrets lay beneath the floor?

What wraith’s cold hand tries the door?

What is whispered on the winds?

What price to pay for my sins?

Where doth this specter call his home?

Where doth this beastie dare to roam?

Where is my God, when evil walks?

Where can I hide when demons stalk?

Why do these spirits haunt my head?

Why are they not happy dead?

Why won’t these soldiers lay to rest?

Why must my twilight be distressed?

When will I be freed from this hell?

When will I be taken to my cell?

When did I become a social cancer?

When I thought slaughter was the answer!

Great work, Savanah. One of my favourites of yours. The poem raised a lot of vivid images, and the message was very clear. Well done.

Fantastic words could have come straight from Shakespeares 'Macbeth!' Describes with clarity the workings of the tortured mind. A bloody masterpiece if you ask me.

A very thought provoking write here indeed. Full of feeling and meaning and questions that may remain unanswered for eternity. War is not good.
