Echoes Of The Broken Child

Inside she is broken

Her outer shell is cracked

But this isnít the first time

That she has been smacked

The tears staining her face

The scars tattooing her skin

She is all alone

With the fear within

Echoes of the broken child

Screaming for a helping hand

But these screams are silent

And no one can understand

This abuse is pushing her over the edge

And thereís no looking back

Her defences are crumbling

Beginning to crack

The pain is creeping in

Infecting her from the inside

And now thereís no place

For her heart to hide

Itís vulnerable

Itís so easy to break

But im proud of her

Because of all she takes

These scars will not fade

And heal over night

Theyíll be there to remind her

That sheís not alright

These shadows are whispering

Telling her to use that knife

To end everything

For a better life

She fights the temptation

Knowing itís just the voices in her head

Because itís not a better life

If sheís dead

But these nights of abuse

And broken bones canít go on

Even if she is standing tough

Standing ever so strong

Sometimes I can see her

Crying in my dreams

And she goes all quiet

Because it hurts to scream

I can see she needs help

Sheís on her knees pleading

Whilst the cuts on

Her face are bleeding

Someone please help this girl

The blood is mixing with the tears

And this is just one of

Her deepest fears

Someone please save her

She doesnít deserve this

But I can see

That she still exists

She is not lost quite yet

Im holding her hand so tight

Iíll pull her out of this

With all my might

Iíll try my best

To keep this smile on her face

And so this pain

Can be erased

I can finally hear the echoes

There screaming louder than before

I can finally see

That she canít take much more
