I swept the patio today,
and while pulling weeds,
came upon a dirt encrusted
wedding band.
How long had it been there?
who threw it among the dandelions?
white clovers and earthworms?
It was a woman's ring;
Who had worn it
before letting it go?
This reminder of promises?
perhaps she still yearns for all the
memories stored within it's delicate designs.
I washed it off,  polished it.
A solid gold souvenier,
that withheld it's secrets,
and  had found the light of day again,
fitting my finger perfectly.
Author's Notes:
I really did find a wedding band one day when I went to get the mail..I wore it for years, and loved it well. Then, I had to pawn it, due to hard times, and sadly lost it. I hope whoever wound up with it cherrishes it as much as the original owner and myself...

I can imagine the mystery behind such a find and you've written it beautifully, Sis! This is a great, touching write...maybe one day you will re-locate that ring...I hope you can.
Beautiful way with words here hon...but then, I expect that from you!
Love you and looking forward to your summer visit!

Someone wept over losing that. It wound up in great hands though. Very nice Barbie, Joe
