Most would like a tranquil life

No fears annoy, a lack of strife

Be careful friend for what you ask,

For more is gained in a labored task

Ever been on a mountain top?

Where views are grand; also stop

                          Next time enjoy… but look around;

How much is growing on the ground?

The growth occurs at a lower clime

Where life is challenged all the time.

The strength is tried by work and fire

The one thing they can’t do, is retire.

The body thrives on wholesome toil

Without it, muscle, brain and skill will spoil

So friends, practice; apply your ability

For in it you’ll find…true tranquility.

Well-written. It reminds me of something Frank Herbert would have said.

Oh Bruce, i must agree with life has been and continues to be very trying..but i also know it has made me stronger and given me the opportunity to relate to others pain. Ahh yes, how much i long for tranquility at times...but i probably wouldn't be here if life was so serene...of what would i possibly write? Naptimes?

Great thoughts, words and enjoyable read. ~ Cindy

Oh, I loved this one Bruce.

I fully agree with this statement.

And it is said with such beautiful imagery and metaphor.

Very enjoyable and wise.
