~The Newborn Baby~

From the very first day,
that you find out.
You are going to have a baby,
there are so many things to think about.

The morning sickness,
the mood swings too.
The wonderful food cravings,
to not being able to tie your shoe.

All the visits to the doctor,
just to find out when you're due.
These are just a few,
of the fun things to look forward too.

After nine incredible months,
of carrying this bundle of joy.
You finally go into labor,
and still wonder if it's a girl or boy.

The pain is intense,
you want to give up.
It hurts so bad at times,
that you can't even situp.

Finally the time has come,
for the baby to arrive.
You begin to realize,
that you will actually survive.

When it's all over and,
they place your newborn in your arms.
You forget all about the pain,
as you admire all their charms.

Author's Notes:

I've been through this three times.
I'd do it all again if given the chance.
