Our Heads Held High

Sad memories of America and the lasting memories of Spain

Chilling echoes of these events hit London and brought the pain

We sat in offices and wondered how we could take the devastation

Decided we would act like we are, the British Bulldog Nation

Our heads held high we shed but one tear

A tribute to great loses but we will have no fear

We knew of the danger that it would come someday

But we will not give in to them we will not go a stray

I remember the fear in my chest as I called people I know

For every one that answered I let my enormous relief show

To my friends in America I thank you from the bottom of my heart

For all the support and emails you all sent me from the start

Our heads held high we shed but one tear

A tribute to great loses but we will have no fear

We knew of the danger that it would come someday

But we will not give in to them we will not go a stray

I looked at the worst station and couldn’t believe the scene

How could so much loss be at a station many times I’d been?

The worst affected of them all was a trip that I knew well

It was a journey I mainly used emotions started to swell

Our heads held high we shed but one tear

A tribute to great loses but we will have no fear

We knew of the danger that it would come someday

But we will not give in to them we will not go a stray

Now the dust has settled as we look out for the sun

To show the evil bombers this war they haven’t won

We stand tall again no war like revenge we’ll seek

For the best response we have is the spirit of which I speak

Our heads held high we shed but one tear

A tribute to great loses but we will have no fear

We knew of the danger that it would come someday

But we will not give in to them we will not go a stray…

Author's Notes:

Obviously all of us in England are having a hard time at the moment, but this will not go in Grieving and Loss this is a dedication to those who lost their lives and to the many who was injured and all those who did what they could to help.

London is my home I was born and raised there and in different circumstances I could have been on one of those trains, I have family all around London and it was a  hard day.

But we must continue with our lives and show these people that they are not getting the attention and terror they think they can spread. We defy you and all you stand for.

I'm very proud of your country. All of you stay strong and you are in my prayers. I pray that this will never happen again and for those in the hospitals to hold on because I know they can make it. Be thankful to have such a wonderful country that supports.

Excellent tribute my friend, I am proud of the people of England and commend the emergency services and how well the people of our country handled this terrible situation.

Glad you're safe too, I still have someone to pick on. :P
