bruises on my soul

Given the sweet scent of a man and then taken by way of demand
How cruel is the ticking of time when it threatens to take what is mine
Bend down and reach for his grip, feel his strength and I watch it slip
Decisions are laced with the fear of knowing the end is creeping near
Having a taste for a life that fits then sinking as consciousness hits
“What is this?” The heavens say, “We’ll give him to you, then whisk him away”
Commitment divides our shared course but its devotion that’s my driving force
Fill my lungs with the purified air then clench them tight as I realize he’s not there
Take my vision if it means one more night he can be guided to what feels so right
Claw my way to the end of this place become whole as I fall in his embrace
Leave what life I struggle to live plead to god for just one moment to give
Desperation is confronting right now all I need is the knowledge to know how
Bring light to these wars I have fought and let me out of these darkened thoughts
It is enough to bring me to my knees as I frantically chase for my dreams?
Warm my heart from this coldness it beats light my spirit and feed me his heat
I’ll ask for help from the entities above to bring back my one precious love
And while I search for his half and my whole I’ll wear away the bruises on my soul

Amy, this is an amazing write! To be happy and make others we love happy, we first have to make our souls unbruised and right! Your pain now will be overcome by joy later on! Trust me in this!
