~My Fear Of Thunder~

 It is storming,
really bad outside.
My family thinks it's,
funny when I run and hide.

They laugh at me until,
there are tears in their eyes.
I tell them they're not nice,
and not acting very wise.

I love to watch the lightning,
as it flashes across the sky.
But when the clap of thunder comes,
that's when I start to cry.

Fletch is there to hold me,
and protect me from my fright.
He's laughing with the rest,
as he holds me really tight.

They don't seem to understand,
why I am so scared.
I can't explain it to them,
cause when it comes I'm to impaired.

It's been like this since,
I was a little child.
I hoped when I got older,
my fear would be more mild.

But it seems that,
the older I get.
My fears become worse,
and I am even more upset.

Im not going to laugh because my mother is also scared of thunder and lighting to but I would never laugh at her only with her and try my best to calm her fears for if had not been for my mother I wouldn't be here

Terrific write Tracy. My mother used to say that God had a stomach ache when it would thunder real bad, so I never had the fear. Actually in the middle of a thunder storm, I like to sit out in it, as long as there are no trees around! Very nice, Joe

Another great poem of your's that somehow I missed, and we were just talking about this the other day on the phone. U penned this subject very well though. Other people's Phobias r nothing to laugh at. Don't laugh, but I have a fear of hairs in the bathtub, those little varmants. Ok, u can laugh, I know it's silly. I'm here for u sis, I'll protect u...Hugz...Jillian

Phobias like this are very real and I learned a long time ago not to laugh...my phobia is being in the dark. if there's a sliver of light around, I'm fine...if it's total black, I can't breathe...I feel something behind me...It's a horrid feeling! Hey, let Fletch laugh..I'll BITE him for ya! (grin)
thunder and lightning has always drawn me..i want to be outside in the middle of it, but yeah...I learned a long time ago to come in out of the storm, lol...but don't give me a dark closet or basement! YIKES!
My heartfelt sympathies to you, Sister! I'll swat anyone I catch laughing at you, okay?
Watch out, Fletch! I have a rolled up news paper that I'm deadly with! (grins)
Your Hillbilly sister...

OK Nostrodamus stole my thunder. I was going to say you really had the last laugh because you obviously just wanted Fletch to hold you tight.
PS I hear Dallas Cowboy fans aren't scarred of Thunder

THE THUNDER ROARS LIKE A LION ON THE HUNT AND IT CLAPS LIKE STEEL HANDS ACROSS THE ELECTRIC SKY AND IT JUST PUTS TEARS IN OUR EYES .. WE ALL HAVE FEARS WE DON'T UNDERSTAND ..SOMETIMES ITS A FEAR WE TRY TO HIDE.. HUGS ~ SHE
