Take Me Away

"All aboard", said the conductor,

As I stepped onto the train.

"But there is no one here",

I said, as I dry off from the wet cold rain.

"This is your imagination,

Tell me where you want to go.

There's no limit, no boundary.

Let your thoughts lead and I will follow."

"Take me away, to a place unknown.

A place so extraordinary, so rare,

That no man has laid eyes upon.

Take me out of this nightmare."

And as the train began to rise,

I stared out in wonder.

Flying through the clouds,

So white and tender.

"Take me to a place where magic lives.

Where fairytales become a reality,

And mythical creatures roam the lands.

A place with indescribable beauty."

"No need for a wishing well or fairy dust,

For this is my one and only desire.

To let my heart and soul go free.

Flying through the sky, higher and higher."

"And for my mind...

Well it's already in another world.

Funny how it works, don't you think?",

I giggled as the train twirled.

"A place where the grass is green,

On every side of the meadow.

From sunrise to sunset,

I will lay and wait for the stars to glow."

"If only I can reach out and touch them.

I would light up the night for everyone,

Who has been overcome by darkness.

Till a new day comes, and the sun shines so golden."

Sunlight shined brightly through the window.

"This is the last stop", said the conductor.

"See you tomorrow", I smiled,

Stepping out into the busy streets in laughter.
