~*Garden Of the Gods*~

 ~* Garden Of the Gods*

I had  found the  secret  garden of the Gods,
with its splashing exotic ambrosia waterfalls,
dancing out of the scented naked  air in
this emerald oasis  of unforgetable  crystal vista

It was splashing its breathtaking cascade
diamond showers ,on chocolate colored rocks
as it caressed  this flowing  magicial  place

Tropical  painted wild lilacs and white swift
egrets  that fly in the vibrant  tropical  garden,
days of mystical luster with silken  butterflies
that flutters in the  mornings  scented  breeze

Water lilies  with  painted  hues float in
deep colors of azure blues  and floral
fragrance  that breaths in the softness
of passion flowers of splender
Tall green grasses  bend to the dance of a
gentle teasing  breeze  and lovely botanicals
that awaken to morning lights golden  bliss

This leaves a tender sun kissed tint with a
dreamy  bouquet of pink and white mimosa flowers ,
and with  an  angelic musk that lingers in the breath
 of  a hypnotic  unforgetable day

Softly the fingers of night ribbons  reach
into the fire of  scarlet  sunset and its  jeweled

It's golden  alluring sultry temptress
with sheer silk night veils,  that try to cover
the blushing night under the seduction  of the
midnight sun

Author's Notes:

Here is a poem that I wrote  after the lovely lady Margaret (Baglady) gave me these's words
to build a poem..
I hope this pleases our master lady poet with her golden pen that we all love

Here are the words she gave me

Much love to you lady for this honor...

Can't say I have ever seen a work on this site to attract so many comments - I am in awe.  It's also very easy to undertand why this award was presented to you - you EARNED it.  It's not like your skill in painting vivid pictures through your words isn't enough - you go and frame it around a word bank!  simply amazing.

What an excellent piece of literature, a poem for poets and people alike.

Other than the words you were given there are many other great expressions in here that conjure up great though and image, and it has been so well sown together its reads like silk.

Now wasn't this deserving of the award or what?

Comment By: FreePelagic Mind on August 18, 2008 07:47:01 AM Report
I think this is a very well structured poem with good images built by sensual metaphors.

Nice work.

THis is a very vivid painting India, something of a Monet with its brilliant colours and natural setting, apicture of the garden of Eden complete with innocent sexual allure!)

It reminds me somewhat of Coleridge's Graet Poem:-

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree :
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man

Down to a sunless sea.

So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round :
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree ;
And here were forests ancient as the hills,
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.
But oh ! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover !
A savage place ! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover !
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething,
As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing,
A mighty fountain momently was forced :
Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst
Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail,
Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher's flail :
And 'mid these dancing rocks at once and ever
It flung up momently the sacred river.
Five miles meandering with a mazy motion
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran,
Then reached the caverns measureless to man,
And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean :
And 'mid this tumult Kubla heard from far
Ancestral voices prophesying war !

The shadow of the dome of pleasure
Floated midway on the waves ;
Where was heard the mingled measure
From the fountain and the caves.

It was a miracle of rare device,
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice !
A damsel with a dulcimer
In a vision once I saw :
It was an Abyssinian maid,
And on her dulcimer she played,
Singing of Mount Abora.
Could I revive within me
Her symphony and song,
To such a deep delight 'twould win me,

That with music loud and long,
I would build that dome in air,
That sunny dome ! those caves of ice !
And all who heard should see them there,
And all should cry, Beware ! Beware !
His flashing eyes, his floating hair !
Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

Warm Wishes
