Sticks And Stones

You know...
They say love is like a river.
It will cut a new path,
Whenever it meets an obstacle.

But the only obstacle,
That I had to face,
Were the sticks and stones,
Ripping my heart apart.

And so I was afraid.
Afraid to sail that river.
The distance seemed too clouded.
With each storm hitting me harder.

Only now I realize
It was those strong currents,
That led me to the ocean.
Your ocean...

And when it rains,
It pours from my eyes.
But I know it's alright.
It's alright to cry.

I know I can survive,
When those raging tides come.
Because you are my sun,
Lighting my way through the darkness.

And your warm heart...
How it gleams through,
All the gray clouds.
Embracing me.

So when it rains,
I will count each drop,
That falls down my cheek.
Because now I know.

My vision has cleared.
I finally see who I used to be.
As I hold the hands of the heartbroken,
And dance with them in the rain.

All the raindrops in the world.
All of the rivers and oceans,
Won't even come near,
To the love I have for you.

Though some memories,
Never get washed away.
I will build new ones,
With those sticks and stones.

Beautiful words hun. I'm glad I could give you a little inspiration. I'd say more, but words can't express your talent or the feeling I get when reading your beautifully penned words. All I can say is, keep it up!
