~One Step Out~

Certain things in life never fit in.
They border on the edges and,
nudge and pick at you.
To make them routine,
without knowing they can't be.

They force excuses on you,
and live on the tip of your tongue.
Waiting to burst forth,
and become part of your reality.

They don't understand and,
neither do I so I step out.

Outside of my life is another one,
which grasps and tugs at my heart.
Hoping to become the only one.

But it sees only with emotion
and soul, not with eyes and logic.
And tho lives may fight,
neither can win.

Of this I am glad for when one
became bad.
I took one step out of my life and found

another with you.

Author's Notes:

This was wrote along time ago,
when I was getting a divorce.
I wrote it for a man that I was dating,
before I met Fletch.
I found a bunch of old poems that I wrote,
packed in a box.
