Wakened Between Dreams

Why bother to find my reasons; theyíve flown on through and danced with seasons

Braced myself and hit the breaks and as I stop, I speculate

I feel the urge to pull much further, flee the sadness and search for nurture

As I settle for my surroundings and take in echoes which are compounding

I have a dreamlike state of mind it feels, Iíve seen my lifeís design

Droplets of a colored life, I see children, a man and his wife

Another vision I briefly see, itís a glimpse of what was me

Softly swaying within this space, while my memories start to retrace

Iím taken back; you have my hand, an oath of love and a wedding band

To my belly you would often hum, a soothing melody to our unborn son

An aching heart as thoughts unfurl, an angel sleeps, our little girl

Thrown forward with heaving speed, no choice but to proceed

My familyís tears trickle down, only to be met by woeful frowns

Every moment, a painted splash, this time, a fatal crash

Music whispers what was planned and I finally understand

Walk to see where ones embrace; I look down, a familiar face

Mirrored through my crystal eyes, I see my soul begin to rise

I float on by as others grieve and kiss my family as I leave

Taken by unfortunate things, balanced by my new found wings

They will sit and silently cry, as Iím guided by heavenís lullaby

A map of tranquil colored blue, I see beauty, as I thank you

My husband frees the mortal me, my ashes blanket the endless sea

And as the sun is falling away, I let them know my spirit will stay

Because in this life I had to part, but with you all, I leave my heart.

Dear Amy-
Life is granted as a gift that eventually expires
so we try to fill in the center with as much of the offerings it has to give-
I thought this was a great expultion of emotion-
Best Wishes to You My Friend~
