Destruction of Heaven

White cotton candy clouds float gracefully in the bluest of skies,

as the sun shines down gently, to give nature her prize.

Here, peace reigns supreme, on this warm summers day,

as geese and ducks in the water, splash and play.

Orange corks float in the rippling waters of the lake,

as fishermen hope that a meal, home they will take.

Squirrels chase each other around the base of the trees,

then run up the trunks to hide in the leaves

This little piece of heaven, truly has been blessed,

for me, at this moment, this place is the best.

But a thought crosses my mind, as I look at this beautiful scene,

why does mankind continually ruin such a paradise?

for mankind is not that basically mean.

I think that he is greedy, planting concrete instead of trees,

for the eyes of big consortiums for them to see and please.

Isnít it sad that places such as this, should all be plowed away,

when beauty all around us, should have a charter for it to stay.

'Tis the destruction, my friend, when woods are chopped down for condominiums~!!
And, the shores are littered with plastic sacks and tires~!! (sigh)....Your visual on this piece is beautiful~!!
Your message is key for us to heed...

VERY true, William! But I Think you'd love it where I live...about 90% of the county is owned by the forest service...we're in the middle of a national forest and I love the beauty that is all around us. You guys ever wanna come up for a visit, we'll take you out to Joyce Kilmer and walk the trails!
Hugs!
