An Awful Joke

I loved you, from that moment,
when you laughed at my awful joke,
and I saw your heart smile at me.
Not your lips, your eyes, your face..
your heart.
I loved you, when times
took us from the extreme ends of life's spectrum,
to the middle, where we fit in,
and were comfortable.
I see the way the laughter,
has creased the corners of your  eyes,
from my horrid jokes.
But your heart, has never changed.
I could not appreciate you more,
do not know how to love you any deeper.
Thank heavens, I never did learn
how to tell a joke,
any other way.

Barbie- I think that having someone who loves and accepts you in spite of those quirks that make you, you has got to be one of the greatest gifts in life. Amazingly, what you see as your stupid weaknesses may actually be the qualities that endear you to your friend. You are then a lucky lady.

Love comes from the heart Barbra, and so does your writings. This is a beautiful way to put a part of love down on paper OR on a computer screen. This is a good write!

Barbie, you shouldn't be so darn hard on yourself. I'm sure your jokes would make anybody roll around laughing on the floor.;o) Keep on penning my dear friend. *S* Cinderellie AKA *S* Wind Whisperer AKA *S* Cynthia ;oP

Awful jokes are the thing that keeps us smiling. I'm the queen of botched punch lines and yet they still ask for the joke...nice work reminding us that we still like to smile..

This is a perrrdddyyyy write Lady. Laughter is the best tonic in the world. When two people can laugh together, then, you have touched a little piece of heaven. (Even if they are crap jokes. ;-))
A pleasure to read.

William.
