Lack Thereof
If not for chill of winter day,
how would I know,
when warmth came to play?
If not for brown in crinkled leaf,
how would I feel
the ache of grief?
If not for flower's aroma sweet,
how would we know love,
when it came to greet?
If not for the smell of fresh cut grass,
my vision of green,
would be at impasse.

If not for lips that wait in passing,
how would I know a kiss?
I only know what makes me happy,
for I know what it is I miss.
To see and feel and taste and touch,
something must be missed;
for we must know the misery of  lack,
to know it as such bliss.
Author's Notes:

Was just thinking that we may not fully appreciate some things, if not for the experience of having them in the first place..even love.

yeah seems that way often... we truly realize how much something (or someone) is important once it's gone... the art of appreciating what we have is not a given to everyone... good observations in this... thanks for sharing :f

later... xx
