For all the days of bitterness,
and all the days of sweet;
I  chose this path that I now walk,
with callouses on my feet.
I stop to rub some ointment in,
and have a grassey seat.
For all the days my heart went black,
and all the days my heart was meek;
for all the days I was filled with joy,
and all the times that I was weak.
What else is life but a circus,
of clowns and cotton candy?
Complain I will not, for twas never told,
that indeed all would be dandy.
For all the times I went hungry,
and the times I was overfed,
it's either feast or famine with me,
and will be til I'm dead.
There is no happy medium,
no middle of the road for me;
I avoid the well traveled road like a plague,
we choose where we point our feet.

I avoid the well traveled road..... Yes, YEs ,YES! I couldn't agree more, Barbie. Popular cultire is an oxymoron. And as Michael the something or other has said: If you follow the herd, better watch your step.You never disappoint and you usually give me an idea, Michael

Sheesh honey...get a corn wonders on the crusty old feet!
Sounds to me, though, that your Muse is still alive and going well...
Hugs and love ya!

I too am pleased that you posted this write. I have often felt that the pendulum swings both ways but never stops in the middle. Enjoy the upswing and grind through the downswing. Joe

"we choose where we point our feet."
This for me, is the kernal of the write.
For many years I walked a long hard road that seemed always to be over broken ground and uphill. Then I "chose" a different direction. Now my feet have no callouses. (But man! They do smell from time to time.) I enjoyed this write very much Lady.
