Some Things Just don't Mix....

My eyes are hardly open,
my body stiff and sore;
the night was long and noisey here,
ignorance drank, then drank some more.

Seems these people here, in this complex,
like to have a beer and a brawl,
there must have been forty in the street,
so many I lost count of them all.

They shouted and screamed, and called the names,
they poked and they rumbled and fought;
they ran and they fell and put up a fuss,
up to them, their liquor had caught.

I cursed their silly drunken ways,
for I had been trying so hard to sleep;
but even with the window closed,
I could hear every single peep.

The cops got called, it took four cruisers,
they hauled some celebraters in,
and when they left, the folks came back,
to start it all up again!

So finally at about three thirty,
the quiet settled in;
and now you know why, it's a good rule of thumb,
to not mix ignorance with gin.

Author's Notes:
Yes, my arse is  still aflame. You know, I like a good celebration as much as the next person, but this place was absolute nutsville last night. Ignorance and alcohol..just don't mix. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

They must have come from the Instant Assholes just add alcohol breed.
Great Rant Barbie I hate those types of people. Lived with one for 5 years before he sobered up. BTW I am still with him.
Love Ya............Tracy

Wow...sorrry...too much partying last night! My hangover will keep me snoozin for the next couple of days, though...
ON the serious side...I understand your rant completely. It's relatively quiet here where I live, so I don't have to worry too much about this happening...but there are those occasions...my brother in law likes to "live it up" on occasion, and yeah...burns me up! Ignorance and alcohol...NOT a good combination!
Love you girl, and when I get there WEdnedsay, we'll SHOW that place how to party ;)
Hugs! God, i can't wait!

yep, I like fun as much as the next, but rioting in the streets when your trying to sleep isn't great (I lived above a night club for a bit, simmilar affect.. but, like, non-stop :-) )

This is a great write. I can remember my wilder days, and I must say that I am glad that they are over. I can do without the fighting that didn't happen very often, and the drinking and driving. Drunks just don't have any sense and when I began drinking I always wanted to go somewhere else to see if they had something better. Great job.
