WRITING IS WHO I AM
I write because you need me to,
I put into words what you are thinking;
I write what you want to hear,
I raise your heart when it is sinking.

I put down into words what you are dreaming,
so you can see it clearly on this page;
I write for you to be encouraging,
to help you and to be your sage.

I will never pull my punches,
my honesty is as clear as daylight;
Whenever you are down and out,
I will help you to stand and fight!

I write to make you smile,
to take away the sadness and the blues;
I write to teach some lessons,
to try to help you find the missing clues.

Writing is who I am,
without it I would be a lifeless stone;
Writing completes my being,
without it I would be truly alone!

Spoken like a true writer :)
I enjoyed the meta-theme here, especially that you not only cover yourself and your identity, but posting this poem on a poetry site you likewise cover every other poet reading your poem. This poem has therefore a really interesting twist to it imho ;) Cheers! Aeth

Loved this Joe, writers have to express themselves or go insane. You have expressed well, leave the insane part to me. LOL, Henry

Writing always releases the inner pain and joy...we, as writers, write because it is what makes us who we are. Great job and fantastic expression, Joe..
Hugs.
