The Garden In Spring.

The garden in spring, a delight to behold
Just watching the wildlife and plantlife unfold
A lawn decked in green, the trees and the shrubs
Blackbirds and Sparrows, all rummage for grubs

The Squirrel so nervous, he leaps here and there
Looking for peanuts he buried somewhere
A Magpie looks on, in somewhat disgust
He can't figure out why he's making a fuss

The Wood pigeons canoodle, on the fence as they do
Built a nest in the tree, to savour the view
Not forgetting the Jackdaws, who arrive twice a day
And liked it so much they decided to stay

The bandits we call them, because of their mask
Raiding for titbits an organized task
The Doves with their collars so prim and sedate
Watch from the arbours, in a mortified state

Along with the Robin, the Thrush and a Wren
They turn up in our garden again and a again
To nurture the wildlife, in the garden is right
And the garden in spring, is such a delight.

I love the spring time in the garden. This speaks volumes nature so beautiful. I love a nice garden but hey not tending to it as I never did have the knowledge of what to put where.

Love Angelxx

Awww Graham, this was sooooo sweet to read! Every morning here, I hear a few birds, and it gives me such a longing. It aches in me, the need to see them. Thank you, for a wonderful reminder of how it soon will be...Barbie

There's nothing more wonderful than a springtime garden and the return of the wildlife that has been absent during the colder months...this is great! Makes me long for spring to hurry up and get here!
Hugs to you, my poetic friend!
Glata
