I feel it. I am almost in the same boat. The difference is that I've seen my dad, and I talk to him occasionally. For me, it's not much better. He's in a place in between being there and not. He's my halfway dad. He doesn't want to pay child support or come visit me or call me, but he expects me to call him and travel 6 hours to see see him once a year. I love him, but I don't like him at all. He's a loser. I think you are probably better off not knowing your dad. I wish mine would either be a part of my life or not. Instead, he's just on the fence.

I really like your poem. You've certainly made me have some feeling toward the man the left. (ARGGGG) If he's not wondering why he didn't contact you, he's no smarter now than he was when he left. Just remember, that is his problem, not your's.
I hope you can get past the hurt and find great things instore for you life. You may be already over it but, my guess is that you are not since you are writing about it with a little bit of a vendictivde tone. I just know that you have to get past this pain before you can completely own your life. Maybe you'd like to talk to a school counselor or a counselor at your church. I see a lot of hurting people in my line of work and I still hurt along with them. Again, I like your poem and keep up the writing.
