The Stranger.

I'm recalling the day when my life changed for the worst,

when i walked and talked with a stranger

and thought that my time was cursed.

But then is this the right time to bring a child into the world?

No, but that doesn't make me feel any better...

That only makes me hurt.

Yes, i'm recalling the pain, the sorrow, and the tears...

I'm dwelling on promises and sickening fear...

Still, i cling to my hopes and aspirations

because that's how i am.

I still dream the dream of a desperate man.

But the stranger assures me that i could be blessed,

as things change for the worst only to work out for the best...

Sometime in the future i'll be filled with optimism and zest

so while i wait for those feelings there's no way i can rest...

But then am i only thinking of myself?

I'm thinking less about love,

and dreaming more about wealth.

Wealth breeds optimism and feeds zest,

and love is somewhere in-between i guess!

I drink to hide all the emptiness that i'm feeling inside,

but that makes me think about revealing the feelings i've been trying to hide...

And now i'm recalling the day when my life changed for the worst,

when i walked and talked with a stranger

and swore that my time was cursed.
