Continuing Hours.

Continuing Hours...

Hours of the day

when i withdraw to the same place

and hide myself away...

My face in my hands.

Sleepless hours...

Deep in the night.

I walk through city streets for miles and miles,

stifling pitiful cries.

Discouraging hours...

Distracted by the one i cannot content myself without.

Hours when i am forgotten...

Weeks and months are passing,

but i believe that i'll never forget

because i don't know how.

Sullen and suffering hours...

I am ashamed.

But i am what i am.

Hours of torment...

I can't change and i won't change my feelings.

Hours of intent...

And hours of reason.

Is anyone like me, distracted?

A friend...

A lover lost to him?

Is he as i am now,

getting by on nothing somehow?

Does he rise in the morning, rejected?

Does he lay awake at night, reflecting?

Does he hold on to a friendship, ruthless but endless?

Does he hold on to his anguish and passion?

Does he stray from reminders or the mention of a name?

Does he know the answers?

Does he take the blame?

Continuing hours...

Hours of the day

when i withdraw to the same place

and hide myself away...

My face in my hands.
