Somebody, Nobody, Anybody

“Please save me” Somebody cried

Nobody did so Somebody died

Anybody could have done more

Now Somebody lies dead on the floor

“Spare some change” said Somebody on the street

Nobody did for they thought Somebody a cheat

Anybody could have spared some cash

Now Somebody is forced to eat from the trash

“Please give my baby a home” Somebody pleaded

Nobody gave the baby what it needed

Anybody could have offered some aid

Now Somebody’s baby is alone and afraid

“Please stop” Somebody said who’s car broke down

Nobody stopped for a stranger out of town

Anybody could have helped the stricken Range Rover

Now Somebody is in a coma because they got run over

Somebody is nameless and could very well be you

For Nobody and Anybody the same is true

Somebody, Nobody and Anybody all the same

You’ll know the difference one day…

When you know their name

Author's Notes:

I once heard in business studies a short story about Somebody, Nobody and Anybody that was designed to teach people to take responsibilty within their business. This is my own take on that.
