Looking on the Brightside.

Wild, young, anxious minds

in a cut-throat cynical life...

Bringing drama back into the night.

There's no use complaining

because that doesn't make us stop.

We're just the same

but we've never tried to be something that we're not...

Deceived believers

with the clothes, the walk, the lot.

We're the outsiders

looking in.

Unapproachable mean machines

looking thin.

We're the outsiders,

questioned as we impress

by voices of sex and lust,

though we see so many faces

we don't know who to trust...

A nodding aquaintance?

An ordinary lost love?

We're the outsiders

and we know when enough is enough.

We are stars...

And good luck doesn't come cheap in this country.

We're never ready to fall apart...

And laughing doesn't come courtesy of bad company.

So it's wonderful to be here.

It's more than wonderful to depart.

We have ambitions...

We're potential politicians with a heart.

We're the outsiders

looking in.

Untouchable mean machines

looking thin.

I wonder how it started...

I wonder how the years fade away...

Maybe i'll understand someday...

We'll never win.

We're only outsiders

looking in.

We're the celestial poets of wickedness...

The forgotten brains behind a new worlds endless mess...

Drunk and fainting with excess...

We're sleeping through caution, ideality, a bad reality, and supposed success.

We're the outsiders

looking in...

Looking on the brightside...

Looking thin.

We're the outsiders...

So what will the cynics say at last?

We're the outsiders,

and i blame the cuts on the guts we have.

"The forgotten brains behind a new worlds endless mess..."...bravo! I understand this poem to be an over view...a looking in on poets in general. Love it!
