Betrayal.

I knew my life was over
The minute I found out
Those little signs you left around
Left me with little doubt

Late home from the office
Another friend you had to see
No point in going with you
It might be embarrassing for me

I'd let you go, but in my heart
I knew you lied again
When you were lying in his arms
Did you think about my pain?

The vows we took now flash before me
Did you mean them at the time?
The tears are burning in my eyes
Like droplets of red wine

The thought of you together
Is tearing me apart
I loved you like no other
And you stabbed me through the heart

Yet still you hold me in your arms
And tell me you are mine
But behind the smile and sparkling eyes
Betrayal is your crime.

Betrayal not nice for the other partner who is the innocent one. If things are never discussed how does the other half know there is something wrong to try to fix it. Cant always fix what is broken but you can try to fill in the cracks.

Painful heartbreaking wonderful write

Excellent write and such powerful last lines. I hope this isn't a true story for the sake of your heart.
