The Eyes
The golden snow of dusk, when the sun fades, I've seen it only in an artist's shades. Alpine slopes bathed in eternal green, I've heard from poets but never seen. They speak of satin, crystals and wine These remain strangers to these eyes of mine. Rubies filled with crimson fire and diamonds with virgin rage, Are as far from me as anger from a sage. Nature's treasures are beyond my world of mortar, Nor shall I behold riches in this life or after. Though I may not see green vales or man's riches fine, I've seen my heaven in the eyes of thine.
Author's Notes:
I wrote this poem a few years back, when I once saw how much one could see in people's eyes.especially the ones of those we love.It kinda hit me hard, though I've read and heard so much about eyes and their praises.

the eyes are a window to the soul, they can tell you so much and so little about a person just by a quick gaze into them, beautifully done, amazing infact you have a gift with words,

Tasmia, Your words touched me deeply! You are so  right! The eyes are a mirror to the soul! And the reflections you see with love are the ones you were meant to see! You have a mystical spirit! I can only imagine your eyes reflection!  Clay TheWolf...

Another excellent write, beautiful.  Yeah, I always end up writing about eyes even when I try to avoid mentioning them.  It's too hard avoiding the eyes, power and their magnetisms fire.

Very touching verse, Tasmia, I liked it a lot.
Despite the images that have been overused in literature, there is always beauty waiting to be discovered.
Best wishes,
