The Prez Says...
The prez has declared it true you see,
I can love anyone I choose!
Just as long as she doesn't have boobs like me,
and a snatch three feet from her shoes!

Always a stipulation, just to get elected,
two women or two men must not wed;
what a blow to society  the image projected,
the two of them in bed!

Oh the horror of two people loving,
when not of opposite sex,
is rather like a degloving,
the world gone mad and hexed!

Why we'd rather keep it clear cut and simple,
a man and woman the only way!
Why to think of anything else is a pimple
on his wishfully unblemished day!

He has to get the votes you see,
to save his rep and sorry ass;
but no matter how many ayes there be
he remains still pompous and crass!

Author's Notes:

"Ages of experience have taught us that the commitment of a husband and wife to love and to serve one another promotes the welfare of children and the stability of society," Bush said in his weekly radio address. "Government, by recognizing and protecting marriage, serves the interests of all."

"In our free society, people have the right to choose how they live their lives," Bush said. "And in a free society, decisions about such a fundamental social institution as marriage should be made by the people, not by the courts."

This was taken from my homepage, but I have no idea what paper or service it came from. Just something I was reading that made me see red. Obvioulsy, he has forgotten that "the people" have individual rights, and that their should be a separation of church and state. I feel that marriages of gays should be legalized.  As far as marriage being proven between a man and woman, yea...take a look at the divorce statistics between both...take a look at all the unwanted kids abused and neglected every day that were born into these blessed unions. I'm not gay, but just feel everyone has a right to choose. If this offends anyone, I apologize for that, but not for having my own opinion. We are all, entitled to that still, as far as I know...course, there could be a bill coming up about that soon...sigh....

God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Its just not natural to love the same sex. Humanity and the animals would become extinct if it was right. It is a genetic defect.

sure let them be married. Just dont force the church to bless the marriage. They have the right to deny that.

he he he

but its no laughing matter, I think that people of the same sex should be able to have some sort of commitment that allows the partners to have financial security

At this position on my path I do not see them being blessed by the church.

Many women do not accept their lesbian side until midsdle age.

I have not felt that urge but if I did, I would certainly not expect the church to bless it.

Dear Barb-
I believe you stated this in your own unique way!
Sometimes I have wondered if there is not a bigger reason than most of us look at for
the gay community coming out of the so-called closet-
Because if one was to really think about how they could actually teach us all that
it doesn't matter how the physical form is shaped or developed, to love someone for who
they are from within is the truest form of this emotion-
Although there are a few who go a little overboard showing us their sexual preference,
I think that may be because as a society, the majority reject who they are as people.
As far as Mr B goes, I aint got nothing good to say about this man who to me personally,
is no better than the terrorist we as a Nation fear-
After all, Imagine if he was to want to settle a personal score with YOU or ME-
Think he would not abuse his political position of power to dispose of the situation?
I believe he is the epitome of evil well cloaked and has brought the prophecies written
long ago closer to the apocalyptic closure that will change the world as we know it today
before he is done-
There, Thank you for this write that allowed me to vent a bit on this idiot-LOL-
Best Wishes to You and Yours My Friend~

Wow, exceptionally said Dear Lady. I agree with Len. Live and let live. If I don't like it, I don't have to live it. There is so much intolerance in our fake Puritan ethic. If each of us just took care of our own lives, to each his own might stand true.  Sorry, got carried away. jp

good rant.  Bush is as close to a criminal we've had in the presidency, if he's not already one.  If we're not careful, and don't stand up for ourselves, our beloved constitution will rendered worthless, just as Bush would like it.  Gays,  have as much a right to get married as heterosexuals.  Once again, Bush is blowing hot air to get some support.  :)

I like this write.  I don't think the president is serious about this.  Like you said his only intention is to energize the little remaining base he has.  Oh, and what a base that is.  I always thought Republican meant minimizing the government presence in our lives.

very well written and amen to what you say personally I am a hetereosexual male who has been divorced 3 times so don't tell me that marriage works best between membersof the oppisite sex when when my best friend has been with the same guy since high school seems to me those 2 gay men have a much better track record than me and all my other straight friends

All I can say is thank God almighty he is a lame duck president.  In his silver-spoon narrow little world of tunnel vision anything from societal norm is a sin and desecrates the American way of life.  He is just trying to appease all the bible-thumpers out there who put coin in his pockets and support his pious outlook on life.  I think it is sad so many people think they have the right to determine what their friends and neighbors think and do.  My husband and I have a lot of lot of gay friends and they are just as normal as everyone else and their "relationships" have last for a long time and probably will forever.   Great rant and superb insight into the problem.    Cadi
