Tranquility.
Do you believe in sweet release
That afterlife will bring you peace
To ease your pain and tortured soul
Released from earths embalming role

To look upon your loved ones still
With peace and comfort as your will
To love and cherish , Oversee
Be free to wander in memory

A life passed on in spirit drifts
In times long gone, yet still persists
To roam through all eternity
That which we seek tranquility.

Graham...

This is something that I think we all hope for, and being raised Christian, it is what I've been raised to expect. There's always hope of a better place after this life...When I stop to think, "What if THIS is all there is?" it utterly depresses me, thinking that there's no hope afterwards...So I tend to believe that there IS a better place where we have more hope.

Awesome write, Graham...

Hugs!

Glata

Graham,

I think in this life we live with laughter and tears and much heartaches... That just a part of life...!!! I think when we pass from this world to the other side in Gods Kingdom .....There will Tranquility  finally.. to see and hold our loved ones once again..Thi poem moves my heart ..Thank you for such a blessing to me and others on this site!!
Hugs  Always ~ Scarlett

Ya know, I dont know if you will agreee with me, but I think in order to enjoy the afterlife, we have to learn to forgive ourselves and others here on earth first.  If we carry too many emotions with us into the afterlife, I think then we live in limbo until we learn to let go.  Peace and comfort has to come from within us before we can look at others with peace and comfort...does it not???
