Peace Of Mind.
Release me from this morbid fear
A self inflicted prison
Constrained by thoughts I cannot hear
That lack the needed wisdom
Mind made shackles tie me down
To tease and taunt at will
Dragged through halls of darkness
As though searching for a thrill
Memories that will not die
And will not fade away
Take foothold in the sleepless nights
\to haunt me through the day
Peace of mind is all one asks
From the terrors of the past
A refuge that can give relief
In a sanctuary that lasts.

Very effective poem, Graham!  I especially like lines 1-3 and 5-8--in particular the phrase "mind made," an excellent twist (soundwise) on "man made"!

Peace of Mind is sometimes the most elusive thing in this world...Hang in there, my friend...You'll catch it eventually.

Hugs to you!
