Falling Up

You called me from work at midnight

But I was out playing.

You said you got off at two,

Would I be home by then?

I said I did not know, I might,

But I was out playing.

You asked but somehow you knew

I would be late again.

I did not get home till first light,

Since I was out playing.

You still came here and slipped through

The door by my garden.

I came in to a lovely sight,

You in my bed, waiting.

I was happy to see you,

And my feelings strengthened.

We talk and laugh all through the night.

It feels like we’re playing.

You shock me out of the blue,

My new frown assassin.

I admit that what started out, might

Grow beyond mere playing.

The attraction is still new,

But I feel it deepen.

I’m amazed that we feel so right

Since we were just playing.

But now I sense new feelings brew.

In our hearts, love begins.

So we’ve started a new plight,

No longer just playing.

We nurtured love and it grew,

Happy we both fell in.

Oh my soul my drear..!!!  The dance of love is so wondrous to watch and experience, it is breathtaking, and so is this declaration of "love" too!!!  You’re a soulful poet, Randy; there is not much around any more... Write your soul, you do it so beautifully!!
