Seasons Of Love

Seasons of Love

Love burst into my life, so soothing and so unsuspecting,
on a warm spring day.

Our  emotions of words were soft and tender,
they caressed together with such longing in our eyes ,
and basking in the radiance of our smiles.

Velvet raindrops stroked our eager  pulsating  flesh
and  it set free our bridled arousing  passions.

Our summer love was voracious so all consuming,
Its  lushness permeated our very existence ,
this tropical body heat of urgent surrender .

Surging fire , climbing fierce like a sweltering sun
submission upon our glistening bodies ,
with the sudden fury of a sensuous thunderstorm .

Glorious Days and  exquisite  nights of rapture ,
we spent ourselves  with spasms of ecstacy ,
we were united and   inseparable.

Autumns whispers witnessed cooler changes,
her fruit of her passion had ripened first ,
while mine had been slower to mature.

Still there were times our desires were  intoxicating ,
our blood  quickened with waves of tantalizing rhythmn of summer past.
Such contentment we both knew was supplanted now
by our restlessness that lingered in our minds and hearts

With Winters blast, this love came with cruel ,
harsh, unforgiving weapons words,
our passion lived no longer,
just the feeble gloomy rays of December .

A'las our love has died with only its essence that lingers,
broken and empty like the summer cicada shell.

Withering  falling leaves and fading love are so very much alike ,
still clinging , lifelessly , to the chosen  barren tree

* Our love was very sacred  ...  Not profane *
Could the purest sentiments, once again capture this enthralling love
in the precious arms of  lifes dance ,
could those emotional feelings survive another spring?

I wait and  I wonder

So refreshing to read that first line 'love burst into my life'.  I've been walking around the last five minutes or so repeating that line to myself.  It does seem love does that.  Beautiful co-write.

Scarlett, you have just the right touch to put the  necessary  emotional ingrediant into a poem. Well done, indeed, Michael
