Recognizing You

  Recognizing You

I wouldn’t have known you,

If you stood alone from the crowd.

I wouldn’t have recognized your voice,

If you were screaming out loud.

Though I’ve never met you,

I hold you so dear.

We’ve shared laughter,

And even some tears.

We celebrated victories,

Cried through the pain.

Our love and compassion,

Falls down like rain.

See I belong to a family,

With members I don’t recognize.

Though we’ve shared many lows,

And oh so many highs.

My brothers and sisters of poetry,

How close knit we are.

Scattered around the world

Some near and some far.

With our hearts open wide,

We invite one another in.

To be part of this family,

To be one with kin.

First time reading your 25 awards, what a record. Congrats

I can totally understand this poem-without my peers comments and compliments I wouldn't have found the new circle of friends that I have..

just found this it....just found this site... love it is exactly how i was beginning to feel about my fellow poets. what i loved about your poem was its simplicity. Poetry, to me is taking  very few simple, but well chosen words to write your message on the heart of your reader/ listener. thank you for this lovely poem.  sheedreams

Wow, Jeff!  I can't believe it took me so long to come across this poem!  Very nicely expressed and so true!  Although, we'd probably all recognize Christian if we saw him!  LOVE those pictures!  :-)

Sometimes its not enough!!  We dont live in a perfect world!!  We make the best of life, we do however live in this world, and through this site we find a family that we try and keep together... You are a talented writer!! Later, Clay... TheWolf

Dear Jeff-
After being here at Creative-Poems for over 3 years now,
I have met some of the most incredible people who reside
all across this world-
And there are some who have became like family to me being
there through some pretty rough situations that my own family
wasn't there for-
So I raise my glass to YOU My Friend for this reminder of
what has kept me here-
People Just Like YOU-
Best Wishes to You and Yours~
