Eternal
Swirling leaves litter the ground
She walks in silence, her tears make no sound
The leaves, they crunch under her feet
Where is the one who makes her complete

A lonely road she never wished to walk
Where is the other with whom she would talk
The worst has happened, her worst fear
The one she loved is no longer here

She looks up into an October sky
With a silent voice she asks God why
Tear lines stain her pretty cheeks
She cannot summon the power to speak

All she can feel is the puncture in her soul
Her world is upside down, out of control
At the gravesite she drops to her knees
Feels his presence enter her through the breeze

She inhales the aroma of his scent
In an instant she begins to feel content
His spirit tells her it will be alright
For his soul still rests with her at night

Watching over her until it's her time
When once again they'll share love sublime
Through summer solstice and equinox vernal
Their two souls shall be together eternal

Wow...I love this. It's funny, although my featured poem this week is about a weeping willow, it has much the same feeling. Great job!
