Lost And Alone.
It was on a dark and rainy night
A friend now came upon this sight
A young girl, her clothes in dissarray
Stood in the road to bar his way

He offered help as was his way
" I must get home " was all she'd say
He placed her gently in his car
She said it was'nt very far

She cried and cried for most the way
But of what had happened she would'nt say
Except she's lost and all alone
And really needed to get home

At last he came upon the house
Now she was silent as a mouse
Then as he knocked upon the door
He felt a chill right to his core

Before him an old woman within the hall
He then began to tell her all
With tear stained face, she then replied
It was on this night 10 years ago my daughter died

Every year upon this night, she sits alone
A stranger knocks to bring her home
Then when into the car they stare
The girl is never ever there.
Author's Notes:
This is a true story and has been recounted many times over the last decade or so by leading members of the community, including an ex. policeman, the story goes the girl had been out dancing and on the return home had argued with her boyfriend demanding to be let out of the car, on doing so he drove off in anger, meanwhile another car came by and struck her but did not stop, her body was not recovered till late the following day when the mother reported her missing, it seems she is still trying to get home.

WOW, this is truly amazing, this write is also full of sorrow and lonliness.  I hope that one day she may be set free from her pain, and lonliness so she may return home. Perhaps all she needs are people to acknowlege their love for her, even those of strangers.  May God bless her soul and as you as well.  Very much enjoyed reading this.

This is awesome! I have never heard this but I do find it very interesting.

This gave me chills to read. A lost soul trying to find her way home....sad....and

her Mother awaits the knock each time, knowing that her baby is trying to get

home. Amazing write dear. This goes into my favs for sure.

Dear Graham-
They say life is a universal circle of events that eventually
makes a full revolution marking its ending point-
But what if a tragedy such as this does not allow the circle
completion and although this level has closed, the circle has not.
Something to ponder---
An interesting story and fascinating delivery-
Best Wishes~
Peace~
James

Oh how very sad this was. May she find peace in her soul and may her family lay her to rest in peace from this torture of not knowing what plateau she is on? Made me cry this.

Beautiful sad write
