My Light

My Light

Here once beat the heart

Of a sympathetic soul

No closer to the truth

Just further from his goal

No nearer to the light

This never-ending fight

A single candle

In the coldest darkest night

I will not bend or break

Even though you take

A little bit more each day

My light wonít fade away

This eternal torment

Cannot last

Iíll find someone true, to me

And place you in my past, forever

As Melanie said, it's difficult to move on. But like anything else, with practice we get there. Well done John. jp

If only we could live our live's, as easily as we write our words.
Though in our best interest, forgetting and moving on can be so
difficult.

This is beautifully written.

Melanie

John,
What a painful poem to read.. but such is life.!!!. We just never know when it will all change? Now its best to move on and let that cloak of darkness fall and the dawning of a new day waits for you..hugs ~ Scarlett

A very well written piece, and life will and does move on , just follow the light.

Life is to be enjoyed, not endured. This is a strong message John. By exercising choice, you may aquire happiness. Press on toward that goal.

~Barbara~
