The Winter Solstice
The longest night of the year
And the shortest day.
The Sun's shallow path
Across the cold Winter sky
Barely warms the Earth.
We can say that here
In the Northern Hemisphere,
But not the Southern,
Where it's the reverse.
The longest day of the year
And the shortest night.
