~Tending My Garden of Roses~

"True friendship is like a rose.
We can't realize its beauty
until it fades."

People will come into your life each and every day,
but you'll know the true friends right away.

You'll know cuz you'll feel the love they have in their heart,
even while you may live countless miles apart.

They will keep your painful secrets safely guarded,
and all the while let their own pain become discarded.

These friends will hold your hand; wipe the tears from your eyes.
They'll also see the real person that you try to disguise.

Lives may change, but friendships like these will never wither.
Their hues may fade, but true friendships will last forever.

Though, like roses, all friendships need tender loving care.
Cultivate them gently and there'll be plenty of love to share.

As I tend to my lovely roses of many hues,
I also place roots for making  friends anew.

So beautiful today is my rose garden of friends.
I love and cherish each and every bloom of them.

Author's Notes:
Thank you dear Penny for
giving me the inspiration I needed to help
me get back into my writing.

I also look forward to sharing many pages
with you in my book of memories.

You are a wonderful friend!

~Karen~
